**MTN Mobile Money Uganda Launches New Virtual Card with MoMo**
MTN Mobile Money Uganda has unveiled its latest innovation—the Virtual Card by MoMo—marking a significant advancement in digital financial services within the country. This new offering empowers MTN MoMo customers to perform secure and convenient online transactions globally, without the need for a physical card or bank account.
The Virtual Card is directly linked to the customer’s MTN MoMo account, enabling users to pay for goods and services on any website or app that accepts Mastercard payments. This development opens up a world of possibilities, allowing customers to shop from international e-commerce platforms, subscribe to digital services, and make cross-border payments with ease.
Security and convenience are at the heart of this initiative. Each Virtual Card is generated with a unique 16-digit card number, expiry date, and security code, ensuring that customers’ MoMo account details remain confidential and protected. The card details can be set for single-use or multiple transactions, providing flexibility while enhancing protection against fraud.
To get started, MTN MoMo users can generate their Virtual Card through the MoMo app or by dialling a simple USSD code. The process is straightforward, eliminating the complexities often associated with traditional banking systems.
