DHL eCommerce UK Doubles Bio-LNG Fleet with 30 New Trucks
DHL eCommerce UK has taken a major leap forward in its commitment to sustainable logistics by doubling its fleet of bio-LNG-powered heavy goods vehicles. The company has added 30 new Volvo FM trucks running on bio-liquefied natural gas (bio-LNG), increasing its total number of LNG vehicles to 60.
Bio-LNG is a renewable fuel derived from organic waste, offering a low-carbon alternative to traditional diesel. Utilising bio-LNG helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions significantly, supporting DHL’s ongoing efforts to minimise its environmental impact and contribute towards the UK’s net-zero targets.
The new LNG trucks will be stationed at key DHL logistics hubs located in Coventry, Leicester, Birmingham, and Milton Keynes. These vehicles are expected to operate across various regional routes, ensuring greener delivery operations while maintaining the high service standards DHL is known for.
This expansion not only showcases DHL eCommerce UK’s proactive approach to adopting alternative fuels but also reinforces its position as a leader in driving sustainability within the courier and logistics industry. With its growing fleet of bio-LNG trucks, DHL is making considerable progress in cutting transport emissions and fostering cleaner supply chain operations nationwide.
